“Who are you?”

Andy Einhorn
Leading Broadway Music Director and Conductor
I’ve been playing drums since the age of ten, when my grandparents gave me a toy kit made of metal cylinders with paper heads. It sounded terrible—but it was the best gift.
I studied drum set and orchestral percussion with Rick Dior in Charlotte, NC, before continuing my education at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with Percussion Group Cincinnati members Allen Otte, James Culley, and Rusty Burge. I also studied tabla with Jim Feist and traveled to India to learn mridangam from Mysore Vadiraj.
My first professional gig took me to Italy as percussionist with the Lucca Opera Festival Orchestra. Since then, I’ve been a member of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra and Cambridge Symphony Orchestra, performed in regional theaters across the U.S., and toured nationally with productions of The Sound of Music (music supervisor Andy Einhorn), Bandstand (music supervisor Fred Lassen), and Peter Pan (music supervisor Andy Einhorn).
I toured with Nashville-based rock band Lovedrug and contributed as a session drummer on numerous albums, including a Billboard-charting release. A career highlight was performing cowbell alongside original Blue Öyster Cult members Joe and Albert Bouchard, as well as Alice Cooper bassist Dennis Dunaway.
